Ideas for a Household Robot
To make a robot useful and efficient in a society of men, it should have certain characteristics. Today robots are emerging to make our lives easier as well as safer. A robot should be efficient for its purpose. For example, a robot programmed to bring you a glass of water that costs more time and effort than getting up would take you, is not good. Robots should be easy and safe for the group of people it is marketed for. Users should be able to operate it without many problems. Users should be easily able change any batteries. Also, there should be an indication for dead batteries. Rechargeable batteries are also commonly used in robots. A self-charging robot that could locate the charging bay, would be great.
The aesthetic impression of the robot is also important. Household robots are different from industrial and other kinds, where the look is not that important. Robots should come in different colors so that consumer can select the right one that matches their home environment or personality. Size is also an important factor in the design of a household robot. Robots can be compact and small but should still be able to function as intended. Robots should be as light as possible as long as it can maintain stability, so as not to lose control in drafty areas. Finally, intelligence is most important characteristic of a robot. The robot should have the processing power to know whether it is doing the right thing or not. It should be programmed to do its work and correct itself if it deviates from the plan. Robots should make our lives easier not harder.
