Research and Descriptions

Have you ever asked a blind person what they would like to do if they could see?  Driving is one of the answers in their mind.  Nowadays, there are so many adaptive technologies available which allows the blind to read and get around their environment.  However, there is no single adaptive technology that enables them to drive an automobile.  Being independent is what they always wanted.

But, why in the world would we want the blind to drive?  The National Motor Vehicle Crash Statistics has shown that more than 40 thousand people had died and at least 3 million got injured last year.  Putting the blind in the road would make the statistic go even higher.

There are so many ways that they could get around without driving.  They can call the cap.  Learning to use the bus is another way.  City bus drivers are trained to assist visually impaired persons to find their destination.
