This is G.L.T.H.S.'s first attempt in the BotBall Robotics competition. The team mainly consists of 45 students, students studying under the field of Electronics Technology. The team is broken down to 6 basic groups: - Project Mangers
- Coders
- Mechnical
- GameBoard Construction
- Documentation
- Computer Support & Facilities
We believe that only those who want to do a certain job will actually do it and put some personal effort into their assignment. So the individuals on the team are allowed to choose which group they think their talents may apply best to. The last thing we want on a team is a bunch of people that are bored, uninterested, and not applying their talents onto the task at hand.
Being such a large team, making project goals, deadlines, and strategy can be a real problem. When we schedule a team meeting only those willing to discuss some issues or those that just wants to know whats going on are invited to come. Mainly the head of each group are the ones discussing. Then that person things brings back to his/her group the heads up and new objectives.
Our proccess of giving assignments is simple: decide upon a game strategy, contruct and program a robot based on that concept. The contruction and programming of the robot can be broken down to 3 very basic branches: Navigation, Sensing, and Appendages.
When a conflict surfaces, the method for solving it is simply logical: Go with the majority, but that conflicting idea/statement is put in mind for pros and cons for later use. Conflicts surfaces mainly becuase a person or persons sees a flaw in an idea. The team keeps an open mind to other opinions and through testing and demostrations, the team resolve conflicts.

Only those who actually wants to work on the robot will be making the decisions. It now seems that any opinions that come from a person with no interest is useless as to that it does not pertain to victory. Answers will be answered through brainstorming and logical thinking, after all we are engineering a robot, everything is logical.
Assigning members work. This late into the competition, we think everyone knows where they are suppose to be and what need to be done. If something needs to be looked at, reviewed, done, one of the two managers will give out the order. No arguements; things need to be done.

Robots:
It has been decided that two robots on the Gameboard will make the process of scoring points a lot easier. By dividing the work amongst two robots, the contruction and programming of the robots become much simpler. The down side of thise concept is that at least of the robot's performance becomes dependant on the performance of the other.
The two basic functions that the robots have to do is gather and sort. Thats it! So we've decide that one robot will do the gathering of the items and the other to sort and dump. Since 4 structures can be dropped onto the Gameboard, we plan on using colorred Legos blocks for navigational purposes and maybe a stationary sonar so the robot knows it's location at all times.
Basically, we want to stick to the most simple and error free strategy: 1 robot gathers | 1 robot sorts
Thats IT!

Get the Documentation Site up and as updated at much as possible to score whatever points that can be scored.
Get programmers programming on the robot.
With the time left on our hands, only 1 robot, Sunny, will be working on the GameBoard. No Other items will be dropped on the board for any purposes.
