Design of the Future

The arms, one of the most important appendages of the body: what is supposed to happen when one looses the use of his/her arms? Advanced medical technology has evolved to include artificial limbs. But what happens when a person either does not want artificial limbs or their disability does not call for them? To get dressed in the morning is completely impossible with out the help of properly functional arms. For this problem we have designed a voice commanded robot that can pick out clothes and hold them up so someone can either step into the bottoms or pull over the tops. The robot has a light sensor that can detect the smallest difference in color and cross-sectioning arms that extend at a 45-degree angle towards the person putting on the clothes. There are commands for waist and chest height, folding, and taking off clothes. The robot itself will repeat commands spoken to it and is approximately 2 feet in height.
