After a flurry of activity between the 1960s and 1970s, humanity began to ignore the Moon. Now intrest is being revived. Last year in September the X Prize Foundation issued a challange for a private organization to create, build, and opperate a mobile robot on the Moon, with prizes in the tens of millions of dollars. The challenge lies in designing a mobile robot. Aerospace companies can easily build rockets and spacecraft, yet few have expierence with mobile robots. Now the Botball club of Gatesville, Texas is attempting to answer that challenge. We will need to operate a mobile rover that travels at least 500 meters from the landing site.
