In the academic year of 1999/2000, Omar Bin Al-Khattab Educational Complex was started as a pioneering project of a scientific school under the name of Omar Bin Al-Khattab Scientific School. Grade 11 was the outset of the project with the developed curriculum distinguished from those of the Ministry of Education's. And in the year 2001/2002 the other levels of the secondary stage were started with special internationally arbitrated curricula and criteria in English, except for Arabic, Islamic studies, and Social studies.
In 2002/2003, the Preparatory school was established with grades 7, 8 and 9. It is located in Al-Sadd area. English has also been the language of all subjects except for Arabic and Religious studies.
In the year 2003/2004 the complex study stages became full fledged when the first and second primary stages where launched.
