...IDEA HIGH...WEEK 5...

March 7 2005
Some students went on a fieldtrip to the Museum of Tolerance in La. Katherine, Edder, German, Anna, John, Norma, and Jessica all went to LA.

The Rest of the team were working with Jeremie and Mark on Programming. That day, they programmed the robot to move, and it worked. The robot moved forward.

Problem: The claw was too big and heavy to be supported on to the robot.

Solution: Add more weight on the robot, using the extra handy board, we counteracted the weight, and added more Lego pieces to support the turning root of the claw.

We were advised to revise our story board since Mark and Jeremie didn't think the claw would work.

Problem: the Claw was our main robot, and we needed to find a way to make it work. So the team asked Arthur for help.

Arthur suggested some tips for getting the claw to work on the robot. During that time, John G was already hard at work adding the support of the claw to the robot, which did work! So we do have a claw, we just need glue for the motor to the Lego piece.

Communications team! They started for next year! They worked with Ms. McHugh on media, and how to get scholarships with the business partners for next year!

The programming team worked with Mr. Spiegel to utilize his laptop. They downloaded a program to familiarize themselves with programming.

March 10 2005

No work today. We had an assembly during advisory for students who passed the CAHSEE.

March 11, 2005

Our mentor Arthur was here to help us. Arthur taught us the basics of programming, to both the programming team and anyone who was willing to learn.

John was adding the finishing touches to his construction idea, which he added on many pieces.
