The Preuss School UCSD houses a variety of student organizations. One of those organizations is the Preuss School Botball Team. The Preuss Botball Team was founded four years ago [2000-2001] by the Preuss co-founders who wanted to develope an afterschool program that expresses the students' interests in building, engineering, and programing. With superlative support form the Preuss staff; they were able to do so. In additon to their laborious work, they had also established the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego Robotics Team.
Since the establishment of the Preuss Botball Team, we have made significant progress in our development as robotic engineers and/or programers. The 2004-2005 year has been a turning point in our development.
Now, having two teams [05-0064 and 05-0065]; we have inspired a numerous amount of students, both inside and outside of school, and sparked their interests in robotics. Our minority students and mentors, with their years of experience and wisdom, instructs and educates our novice members who have just been exposed to the world of Botball and robotics for the first time.
