The Haiku
Andrew Saxe:
orange balls dethroned
forty cups sent flying
you set up

val:
twas the night before competition when all through the house
not a creature was stirring except an optical mouse
the robot was sly and had a little fun
snatched up an RCX until his own project was done
low and behold what did they find, but a tiny spouse.

lily and val:
there once was a captain named crappy
when spilling the cups he was happy
he ran off the line
far too many times
so he charged as he took a cat-nappy

val:
the orange ball is rather tight
it's really round and really bright
whenever sergant wants to eat
he is super vicious like a dog in heat
now all we must do is wait for the light

joshy:
write code. you shall see:
that 2 divided by 3
will now be as 1

Ryan:
cups fly everywhere
orange ball goes in the hole
i do a little dance

Ryan:
bot turns gracefully
servos spin to get the ball
grabber arm falls off

Lily:
no sensors used here
only dead reckoning this time
cup stackers will LOSE

Ryan:
you wish to stack cups?
we scatter them everywhere
my bot laughs at you

Joshy:
our robot laughter
makes you blush very ashamed
ha ha ha ha ha
Poet's note: "it's cold mechanical laughter...imagine robot "ha ha ha ha ha" evenly timed and everything"

Is this gonna work
Worked fifteen times in a row
Battery failing.

Captain of Crappy
Trampler of the blue plastic,
Savior of yellows.

How I love Botball!
Stupid robot never works
How I hate Botball!

Andrew:
Scorpion tail raises
pincers spring to readiness
init_expbd_servos(1);

Andrew:
The moon rises higher
lips attach to coffee cup
programmers awaken

the moon couldn't be simpler(?)
the coffee made for nothing
dead reckoning.

Crystal Robotics
Fraught with disaster
Robots spinning faster and faster

And the Lord Bot said,
"Let there be voltage!" And down,
down, down, went the cups.

Phil’s Botball Poem
It was a dark and stormy night.
I could see but three feet ahead of me.
Lightning provided my only light,
That allowed me to see.

I walked on scared, slowly.
I looked all around for something alive.
And nothing caught me attention, sadly.
So, I sat down and contrived.

Suddenly, I heard a noise and I turned around.
To see a robot staring at me.
It whirred around and made all these intriguing sounds.
Before driving off into the midst of trees.

My memories of that robot are all surreal.
For I could have sworn it was alive and real.
