Botguy Getting Started with Botball

I'm registered for Botball… now what?!?
The Botball Team Orientation is designed to answer that question.  While everything you need to know about Botball is covered at the Educator Workshop, we've heard that some of you would like to become familiar with the process and the equipment in advance.  Here's your chance! This site will provide important information you'll need to know to plan your Botball experience and gives ideas and activities that will help familiarize you and your team with the kit, software and website.  There are five basic things you can do to get started with Botball…

1. Get Started by knowing the ground rules
This section will review the basic information you need to know about deadlines, attendance requirements, tournament expectations, etc.

2. Organize Your Team
There are a variety of ways to organize your Botball team. View basics of team structure, ideas on recruiting students, and tools for fundraising and publicity.

3.  Familiarize Yourself with Your Robot Kit and Software
Even if you don't have your kit in hand, this section will take you through a kit orientation, software installation and several activities you can do to warm up for Botball Season.

4. Use Your Website
Botball uses your team's Home Base website as a vehicle for communicating important information, providing resource materials, offering technical support and hosting your team's customizable Public Website and competition websites. Learn how to use these websites in this section.

5. Tips from Teachers
Because Botball is so flexible, teachers have implemented the program in a number of ways. View creative ideas from Botball teachers and coaches that may be applicable in your school.
