February 20th

We have decided that the best idea is to use two robots. The larger robot, Styx, will make its way to the center supply shelf where it will grab the balls and throw them from the flood zone into our zone. This robot is also equipped with a "puncher" that will extend and push the entire center apparatus so that the tribbles and Botguy also fall into our zone.

The second Robot, Stones, will be responcible for picking up tribbles and balls from our zone, sort them by their color and then dump them into their proper bins. This robot will have a bar that moves back and forth by a servo that pushes the tribbles into a dump truck bay that will then lift by a servo. This robot will collect all of the red tribbles first, then green, and then yellow. By the time it is done with the tribbles, it will then be able to work on the Balls that Styx has hopefully thrown over to our side.

We have decided to abandon the previous plan, because having one robot do both the collecting and sorting of the balls would require too many motors and servos. It would also not be very time effective. The previous plan also did not take advantage of the tribbles, which are easy points because they are already in our zone.

We are planning on using two robots. The first robot, Styx, will be responsible for grabbing the balls from the shelf and placing them into a dump truck bay that it has on its back. The dump truck will be segmented into three different compartments and have doors that are seperately opened by a servo. This way, when the dump truck is lifted, only the balls that Styx wants to dump will be able to fall out.

The second robot, Stones, will be a defensive bot that is equipped with a pin released barricade. He will be built very lightweight and be as quick as possible. He will position himself just between the enemy's zone and the flood zone and will release the baricade by raising a servo. The barricade will then open because by the use of rubber bands. Using Back-EMF, the robot will maintain the position he is in so that he will resist being pushed.
